Editors' Top Picks: New launches from Mii, Bali Body, RMS Beauty and more...
From Pleasing's suncare to Bali Body's tanning milk, and more, here are the top beauty launch picks of the week from TheIndustry.beauty team.
The Hydra Setting Powder, RMS Beauty
RMS Beauty has finally launched a setting powder in its range and it's worth the wait. Infused with skincare and promising a filter-like finish The Hydra Setting Powder employs 'Gel2Powder' technology to offer a "lightweight, bouncy" texture while providing long-lasting, multi-dimensional wear.
There are two ways of applying it. Either use the powder puff it comes with to concentrate on the t-zone for a natural, satin finish with a slightly blurred effect (this is what I'm after) or use the RMS Skin2Skin Everything Brush, patting the powder into the skin for precise application.
Available in three shades (light, medium and dark) to cater to an array of skin-tones, it is packed with skin-loving ingredients including HerbalHydrate. This is a complex of water-soluble, plant-derived actives including Cogon Grass Root, Club Moss, and Glycerin in 100% vegetable capsules that allow for moisturising benefits in a powder, boosting hydration and helping to prevent skin dryness.
Also present in the formula are Gel2Powder technology, Wildcrafted Buriti Oil from Brazil, Organic Jojoba Oil and Vegetable Squalene. What is not present in the formula is talc, at the request of RMS fans.
“You asked for a talc-free setting powder with a slightly luminous glow, and I loved creating this for you by adding plant actives and wildcrafted oils. It’s hydrating, but will stay put all day without creasing or feeling heavy. The three shades add a slightly tinted sheer coverage but with a magical translucent glow that adds a youthfulness and diffusing effect – even just a touch of it on the skin is hypnotic, perfecting and also nourishing," said brand founder Rose-Marie Swift.
Available exclusively at Cult Beauty, The Hydra Setting Powder is priced at £40

Solar Dew Mineral Serum SPF 50+ and Big Lip HA Moisture Balm SPF 30+, Pleasing
Fans of Harry Styles and Pleasing will be happy - the brand has entered the suncare category with two new product launches. Suitable for daily use, the brand's new Solar Dew Mineral Serum SPF 50+ (£45) and Big Lip HA Moisture Balm SPF 30+ (£25) promise to protect all skin types against harmful UV radiation.
Described as a 100% zinc oxide-based suncream, the new serum is formulated to soothe and protect skin, while containing niacinamide to reduce the appearance of redness and dark spots. Meanwhile, the new lip balm marks the latest iteration of the brand's Big Lip range, this time adding mineral sun protection alongside jojoba, coconut extract, and watermelon seed oil.

Tanning Milk, Bali Body
If it wasn’t already obvious, I’m the office’s guinea pig when it comes to fake tan. As the self-proclaimed expert, I’m not one to shy away from trying out new formulas at the risk of turning into a satsuma overnight.
So, when Bali Body sent me their new Tanning Milk to try, I didn’t hesitate - especially when I saw the playful milk carton packaging. Surprisingly late to the brand, I’d always heard great chatter about their tanning sun oils (not one for a burner like myself). So, does it live up to the hype?
The Tanning Milk, which retails for £25.95 and is already sold out, applies milky (as expected), soothing skin with its enriching formula. It’s infused with cascading levels of hyaluronic acid, ceramides and vitamin C to deeply nourish and hydrate while supporting a healthy skin barrier.
For me, this product is the perfect mid-week self-tan booster. It adds an extra dose of colour and hydration to ensure there are no scaly legs in site.

Humantra
It's no big secret that if we hydrate, our skin and mental wellbeing benefit greatly, so then why do so many of us (me included) find it difficult to hit the daily recommended water intake? My job is busy and I'm in and out of meetings - carting around a cup of water the size of a French Bulldog isn't really my style. If this is the same for you, fear not - Humantra is here to help. Its "100% clean, gluten-free, plant-based, sugar-free" hydration products contain six essential electrolytes to power up your mind and body.
"60% of our reviews have people saying we're helping people drink more water on a daily basis. As humans, we're made up of 75% water and the majority of people struggle with their water intake. Dehydration can cause a whole host of issues, that we think is normal. Just like Nike didn't tell us to run more, they made us want to run more. At Humantra, we will never tell you to drink more water, we're confident we'll make you want to drink more. Adding electrolytes to your water is the best (and easiest) way to feel more naturally focused & energised," explains Charlie Wright, Founder of Humantra.
Humantra comes in Himalayan Lime, Lychee, Rose, Berry Pomegranate, and Elderberry and is available from Humantra.co.uk starting at £28.

Mattifying Primer and Protective Primer SPF50, Mii
I'm from a generation (X) that was not brought up using SPF, except when you were actually on the beach (and even then I have vague memories for the SP Factor being sub-10!). However, I am very much more diligent about it now, though I will admit to finding all the layers I put on my face to be something of a faff (especially since I discovered essences and now can't live without those too). Lately I've taken to experimenting with mixing my foundation with a primer or mixing my SPF with a primer, but I've been a bit worried that doing the latter might mean, I'm not getting a high enough concentration of SPF.
So, hooray for Mii. I no longer need to self-mix nor worry. Its Protective Primer (£26) comes infused with SPF50 to smooth, hydrate and create a radiant base (as well as protect my skin). This sort of multi-functional approach chimes perfectly with brand founder Susan Gerrard's philosophy of creating effortless, high performance (and planet friendly) beauty products for all ages. Susan, we appreciate you.
If you're happy to layer on your SPF separately, then you could opt for the Mattifying Primer (£25) which helps control shine and create a flawless base. I have noted the current trend for extremely shiny faces and while I think that works just fine if you are still in the first flush of youth, I feel I need to take a more measured approach. A soft satiny finish is my goal with a bit of shine applied to the cheek to add a further dimension, so this one too gets a big tick from me.
They are launching in spas and salons nationwide and at www.miicosmetics.com next month.
